Violinist Hyunjung Kim has established herself internationally as a rising young solo and chamber musician. She has won top prizes from prestigious competitions including the Moscow Classical Heritage International Competition, the Yokohama International Competition, and most recently she won the 2014 Sion International Duo Competition “Feast of Duos” and the 2015 American Prize competition.
Hyunjung made her debut performance with the Korean Broadcasting System (KBS) as one of Korea's Young Outstanding Artists in 2007. She toured for the 2008 Olympics in Central and South Asia as an official member of the Cultural Diplomatic Mission. She was also nominated as one of Kumho Cultural Foundation’s Rising Stars in Korea and gave numerous recitals throughout Korea and the United States. In 2015, she became an artist member of Music for Food.
After completing her Bachelor’s Degree from Seoul National University, Hyunjung continued her education as a full scholarship scholar obtaining her Master’s degree at the New England Conservatory with Donald Weilerstein in addition to the Pinchas Zukerman Performance Diploma from the Manhattan School of Music.
